My 2011 Goals

Every year I have goals that I try to accomplish ...Most of the time I fail but still I persist. 

Here are some that I hope I actually keep:)

1. Find my style: I mish mash all kinds styles and most of the time this doesn't work. This is one of the reasons I usually stick with blacks and grays.   Hopefully this year I'll find "my" style.

2. Be healthy.  I'm not focusing on anything that smacks of Diet or the the word diet in its title.  However I know that do getting older, having high blood pressure and migraines that I can't just not do some things that will be a positive force in making me healthy. So I'll walk to work at least 4 days a week (about 20minutes) and eat less garbage and more whole foods.  I also will make one new dish a month for hubby and myself to try some around the world.



3.  Say I'm sorry less.   I say I'm sorry all the time EVEN when its not my fault. Good thing or bad thing?  Not sure but its been noticed by other people so its gotta be a problem of sorts.

4. Be less fearful: One of the reasons I have this blog and a couple of others is to break of out my shell.  I have few friends in real time and I'm pretty introverted in a crowd of more than 10 people.  My 2011 goal is to be in a room with 20 people and NOT be in the corner.

5. This is a secret goal which I'll share later in the year along with secret goal #6.

Splurge VS Steal

I've wanted these boots for a year from Belstaff in the U.K

But at 333GBP or roughly 513$CDN there is no way ever I could justify buying them

HOWEVER

Curvy Everyday just got these from Naturalizer for Christmas

I found some in a Distressed Brown in my size from Zappos which I'll order tomorrow after busting my butt to get to the bank before it closes at 3pm.  I'll have them shipped to my childhood BFF for free and then she'll forward them to me.
I'm quite excited as these are 100$ USD and then it will be around 25$ to have them shipped to me in Alberta.  I'm also killing two birds as I needed a pair of brown boots and now I'll have them.

SOOOOO I'm calling these my late Christmas/post Boxing Day boots!!!!

Reining it in

Its a big shopping sales day in stores and online but I managed to be very good and aside from a stop at Future Shop for some on sale video games and a new case for my phone I have NOT bought anything on sale.

Wednesday however, I will be going to IKEA and picking up some things as my 2011 project is to turn the 2nd bedroom into a dressing room/guest bedroom. 

Some things on my wishlist to look at

Malm Dressing Table (IKEA)

Sofa Bed (IKEA)

And a mirror (IKEA)

and some wall lamps for proper lighting (IKEA)

Drapes (Top ones: Target  Bottom Ones: Jysk)

Of course I also need to solve my bike storage problem but I think in the end I'll get it all figured out with some re-arranging and purging.  

I also need a full length mirror and put my artwork up too and it should be a real haven while getting ready for work or to go out.

Did you go nuts on Boxing Day or did you restrain yourself?

Outfit of the Day

This is how I imagined the outfit in my head though I may swap out the v-neck sweater for a sleeveless cardigan as my office tends to run on the hot side.   I'll also wear socks with the boots as its just how I roll.

Also, I don't have a photo yet but I just acquired a black pencil skirt with suspenders:)  I can't wait to post up pictures of it.
