New Changes

I've had digestive issues for many years and while I always correlated to eating meat I usually only made half hearted attempts to fix the issue as I really really liked meat, lazy, scared of change etc.

This past week though, officially on June 13th I finally took the plunge and gave up meat, no more beef, chicken or pork.  I'm still eating eggs occasionally and cheese/dairy and sometimes fish but eventually I'll at least also give up fish too.

So far I feel great with lots of energy!! I've never been huge or consistent on eating vegggies and salads but I'm supplementing that with greens drinks/smoothies now.

I haven't weighed myself really and I plan not too until July 13 which will be a full month. My focus though has shifted a bit from weight to health but luckily they go hand and hand.

I'm working out everyday, either walking/running on the treadmill or biking. Eventually when I figure it out I'll start strength training too.

I'm reading these books or have read them or have them on my wishlist to read:)

Congrats on making the switch!!!! As you know I recently made the switch as well b/c of ethical/moral reasons, but also because I too had major belly issues.

I also feel way better. I'm a lacto-ovo veg. I eat nothing with eyes, and have found it super easy. there are so many options out there now PC blue menu has meatless chicken fingers and now chicken breasts. I tried (and liked) tofu not that long ago.

Allrecipes.com also have some great veggie recipes. I made a killer lentil loaf awhile back.

Anyway, best of luck I'll be following you!

Thanks for stopping by...I love some of the PC meatless frozen stuff.Right now I have the "Chickn" strips and the meatless burgers here. I've also picked up some of their blue menus soups that looked meatless.

I'll eventually be where you are in terms on not eating anything with eyes, most likely in the next two weeks.

I was having really ugly stomach pains and I just think meat isn't for me:( I'm also thinking it may be genetics too but who know..I do know that my belly has been happy these days:)

My belly is much better as well -- unless I eat a lot of cheese. Then it's game over. ugh....lol...
